I motion wr te for a few reasons. Yes sometimes to block or to move a defender away from the play or to run where i want him to be on passes or to make it look like a run when its a pass. Feg some of my plays are auto motion. Amins with due respect could u look at this rule please the NFL is full of motion.

Doc, I think the ruling is for when someone motions and snaps as the player is behind the LOS, thus creating a blocking mismatch on the line

Its my understanding that motioning is fine so long as they have cleared the LOS when the ball is snapped

This is the rule

Manually moving players on offence. Any play which uses "automotion" on offence is fine. Manually motioning a player is allowed, however you are not allowed snap the ball while the manually motioned player is still moving between the tackles - i.e. you cannot motion a player behind the line to use as an extra run blocker.

It would be a penalty in the nfl if they snap the ball while a guy is in motion, false start/ or illegal motion, you have to be set for a second at least. Refs dont call it too much unless its completely obvious

Pilks, that's not true.

You cannot be moving forward at the snap, but you can be running parallel to the los as long as only one man is in motion

I was told that if you manually send a receiver in a motion then you can't snap the ball whilst that receiver is in motion (motion snapping I believe?).

That's still the case isn't it?

In the quote above I was referring to receivers that are doing this in order to get a jump on the defensive back. Not receivers who are being motioned behind the line to provide extra blocking.

I think the only way you guys are going to completely get rid of these issues is by punishing players. I know that it says players who break the rules will be punished but the only example i can think of is when Grant was punished for his QB runs and even then there were no bans i believe. I at least think you should pm a player if he is accused of something so that they are aware as otherwise they aren't going to stop.

Thats my 2 cents anyway...

Im fairly new here and it probably been debated before but why are fake field goals and punts banned it may be a rareplay in the NFL but they do happen.

Just to echo this. We follow up on all complaints and do our due diligence. We don't conduct these activities in public as it would just lead to threads descending into chaos. Have some faith in us

Im well aware that you follow up on all complaints but do it in the admin section of the site so we can't all see. I just don't see many people getting banned for a game week or similar when i've heard of things that i feel warrant this (but maybe that's why im not an admin as im too harsh...)

Aslo, if someone is accused of something, do you let them know? I feel they should be told no matter how minor and even if it's just a one off to make them aware.

Regardless, you lot do a great job running the site and it is appreciated.

Yeah, a friendly PM is sent out and nothing else normally needs doing. Most new coaches are prone to mistakes.

A lot of the time people don't even know they are doing stuff, have misread the rules or simply haven't read them. Usually a pm is enough.

We will be coming down hard on repeat offenders, we just don't want to be banning people for genuine mistakes

I'd say some of the more seasoned ones are prone at times too..has been known.
