    Also, regarding the defensive issues mentioned : Anybody who notices sth with me, please let me know. I don´t even understand half of what was talked about, so there´s decent chance it happens by accidend as of now.

    What i do very often is call a zone defense but then change to man defense when i notice sth about the matchups.

    Yeah they were saying if you come out in a defenseive formation that has 3 down lineman (lineman with their hands in the ground) you can't then audible into a formation which has 4 down lineman as that would put a LB or safety into the lineman position which could potentially give them an advantage and it's also just very unrealistic as it would never happen.

    Hey everyone just joined the site today.

    I have been watching the NFL since 2004, I am a Steelers fan and been playing madden since 2005 does that make me a madden veteran? How long have people been playing madden?

    Been looking to get involved in some online madden franchises that can see out a full season and looks like have stumbled across one here. The site seems great, looking forward to getting involved.

    Welcome mate! Don't be shy about getting involved in the site mate. How long have people been playing Madden? Well I've been playing Madden since it's inception on the Megadrive back in the day which makes me feel incredibly old! lol

    No PA is fine, the rule is designed to flush out those guys thay drop 10 yards back then drift 10 yards right. Thats poor QB play if you do that everytime, as you are just leaving the pocket. I fully understand that when playing there will be the odd occassion of a roll out after being flushed out the pocket but not every play.

    Yeah I only roll out if it's a PA rollout play or if I'm under pressure. Thanks for clarifying that for me buddy! :up:

    QB running: Running with your QB is acceptable from designed QB draw and option plays. As with any play in the game, it's not something that should be overused. For passing plays, where all your receivers are covered, then rushing with your QB is also acceptable – again, this is something which should not be overused.

    QB's should not be running around the backfield, rolling out to the side-lines and taking off or dropping back much more than 7-10 yards.

    I'm sorry but the time has come to me to ask questions about this again, just two though :up:

    1. Why do our receivers have to be not open before we run with the QB? Reason I ask this is because I was playing Stuey earlier with RGIII, I was 3rd and 10 or so, came out in a 5WR set. Obviously in 5 wide if there's no spy I could be on for big yardage. I snapped the ball and whatever way the four man rush came, there was a massive hole between his RE and DT, tbh I didn't even look for a pass once I saw this hole and immediately took off for the 1st down, surely we should be allowed do that?

    2. Surely rolling out is ok once the drop back is complete? I played Lewis today and he had all my WRs covered at first, his RE was getting around my left tackle so I had to run right to avoid the sack, Nelson then got free and I lobbed a pass for a 1st down? Surely that's ok too as it is continuing the play?

    I'm going to do the same thing and ask a question.

    That rule reads like rolling out and extending the play is not allowed, is that right? reason I ask is because that takes away an awful lot of my playbook as a lot of my play action passes are roll out plays. And also, like I say, if your trying to extend the play, waiting for a WR t get open then surely it's okay to roll to the sidelines and even take off and run if you have to? It is something you see in the NFL all time.

    Funnily enough i searched 'UK Madden League' on Google looking for a UK Madden League and found one called UK Madden League (UKML), signed up as Hawks and came across here from there...

    For some reason that made ma laugh! Could you have said UK Madden league any more times?!? lol

    Incorrect.

    I brought this up about a week ago and the guys deliberated over it for a while before coming to this, the correct decision IMO.

    My reasoning was based on facts. One of the admins claimed it was off season and that was why there was a lull, to which I showed him some stats.

    Shoutbox, 20K+ shouts in there, since the last update I did when I cleared the shoutbox posts table.

    Forum, since April, 15k posts, when you take in to account that accompanies 3 leagues, thats quite pitiful.

    Your post stats are pretty much flat since May/June, so if you've been in a lull, its been nearly 3 months worth of lull.

    In contrast, sibling site, FIFA League Manager, less managers than coaches on here, been running 2 weeks, 15k posts already.

    Are you for real? :lol:

    If it was :pleasantry: us and them :pleasantry: there'd be special perks for drafts, team selections, rule exemptions etc etc etc.

    As it stands, they are purely getting access to a tumbleweed shoutbox (and trust me, it will be dead, except for a few staff discussions and a few pleasantries, but they all know how important the forum is) for ensuring this site stays running, because 90% of the people ain't in there anymore and will be posting on the forum, or like you, shouting from your soapbox :lol:

    I'm not on a damn soapbox! I'm just giving you MY opinion. I'm not asking you to agree with it just listen to it and give me an answer which you have just done.

    I just think that it would have been nice (since it effects everybody on the site) if you would have gotten everyone's opinion on what they thought about getting rid of the shoutbox, if the reasons for it had been outlined beforehand rather than just getting rid of it and then saying "it's gone now and tough! but you can still use it on what we (the admins) deem a special occasion, then we wouldn't be having this conversation.

    Oh and my posts have been low because 1 - I've been busy working and 2 - most of what I have to say doesn't need a whole forum post!

    and (again this is just my opinion) FIFA league manager is a new site (I'm assuming) so new posts are always going to be higher because it's new and shiny.

    Listen, I'm not trying to p**s people off. I just think you could have gone about this a better way rather than saying we're admins so f**k the rest of you which is the way it's come across to me. (again, just my opinion)

    :) Anyway rant over, must get back to work. Now lets forget this and move on. :)

    So basically what your saying is, if your a VIP your free to use the shoutbox and speak about what you want and, if it happens, go off on a tangent talking about other stuff non NFL related, but if your not a VIP you must use the forum/blog to talk about non NFL related stuff and for conversations to go off on a tangent talking about non NFL related stuff.

    Still smacks of us and them.

    Hang on a minute, what happened to all members being treated the same whether you were a VIP or not? And now your saying that people that don't/can't donate money to the site can only see and use the shoutbox on a Sunday?

    This seems very much like an us and them thing going on.
