Inside the Numbers

With EVO at the midpoint in the 2019 season we dig inside the numbers for top 5 and bottom five in a few categories along with some trends noticed. The league appears to be balanced throughout with no division appearing to be a runaway

The AFC South has the only unbeaten team in EVO as the Tennessee Titans sit at 8-0 but hot on their heels are the Indianapolis Colts at 7-1. The Titans took care of the Colts 31-14 in week 7 in Indy and these two teams will meet again in week 15 in Nashville. The Titans may have the advantage down the stretch playing 6 out of their last 8 games at home with 4 of those last 8 games against teams with a current winning record. The Colts have 3 out of their last 5 games at home with 3 of their last 8 against teams with a current winning record.

The AFC North boasts the only team that is currently winless as the Steelers are at 0-9 and are in draft phase with the Alabama QB sensation Tua Tagovailoa as the likely 1st overall pick in the upcoming EVO draft. But with a great day and a win by this Steelers team they could be battling it out for that top pick with division rival Cincinnati who are currently at 1-8 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are also at 1-8.

There are also two 1 loss teams with one in the NFC and one in the AFC. The Arizona Cardinals are 7-1 and on top of the NFC West and the Baltimore Ravens are also 7-1 and on top in the AFC North.  The Cardinals  play 6 out of their next 8 games against teams with a current winning record and 5 out of their next 8 at home. The Ravens who will face off against Arizona in week 11 play 5 out of their last 8 games versus squads with a winning record currently and they also play 5 out of their last 8 games at home. Stay tuned as the week 10 matchup between these two 7-1 teams will most surely be the game of the week in EVO.
