Madden 16 - Pro 10 - NFC South Preview
Stuey - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Coach Stuey got the opportunity to coach his favourite team. This offense has alot of potential. Sophmore WR Mike Evans and also TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins will give the Franchise Quaterback of the future 2 very big targets for years to come. But the question remains who will this QB be. Can the 1st Overall Pick rise above all the expectations or will he continue Seminoles traditional into the NFL and be mediocre (Ponder and Manuel). But in general the Offense should be in a good position, I'm sure there will be many instances of people raging about Mike Evans. However the big question left is what about the defence? Two cornerstones on this Defense are Pro Bowl Calibre players, one of which is DT Gerald McCoy and LB Lavonte David. But other then this two there is not much left in this Defense. I don't think the likes of Jonathan Banks and this weak defensive line is going to be enough to stop Julio, Cooks & Kelvin. Stuey has to get to work and look to fix up this defence urgently.
The other concern for Stuey is can he break his hump his going through? He has recently been demoralised after being destroyed by Volki and lets not forget he has lost a number of Superbowls in a row and to make matters worst his paired in a division with one of his arch rivals from Madden 13 & 25, that he lost a number of Superbowls to.
Beyond The Game - Atlanta Falcons
I'm sure Stuey wasn't overly excited to see he would be joined by BTG who has stolen his chance for gold in a few previous franchises. BTG is coming off a mediocre season with the Cowboys where he wasn't able to get into the Superbowl. He'll be hoping to go that step further in this version surely?
The Falcons really crashed from 2012 where they were one win away from Superbowl to this defensive mess they were the last 2 years. So now it’s on Coach BTG to fix this defence and bring them back to where they were 2 years ago or even farther. DE/OLB Vic Beasly will improve their D-line immediately, but still a lot to do on that side of the ball. The offense looks very good. Matt Ryan is the kind of Quaterback you want leading your team and with Julio Jones and Roddy White he has two of the very best WRs. However, Roddy may with his 33 years not be WR2 when we will reach the final season of this franchise, but for now he is there and will make this Offense a lot more dangerous. Also there is another WR who is going to fly under the radar - Hankerson watch out for him. Its not all rosey for the Falcons though, this offense really needs help is in the O-line. As soon as this area is improved their young HB duo Freeman and Coleman will be giving every defence fits.
Winti - New Orleans Saints
This may be the NFC South team with the least amount of potential. But like Stuey Winti took the chance to coach his beloved Saints with the hope of turning the fortunes arround. The offense looks okay at the moment, but there are a couple of issues. Firstly the QB situation; Drew Brees is an elite QB at the moment, but he won’t get any younger. Garrett Grayson could be the solution for the future, but there is alot of developement needed for him to become the number 1 in NO. Secondly offensive weapons; Jimmy Graham was undeniable the biggest weapon the Saints had. But he is gone and there is simply no one who replaced him. Who will take over his 800 yards from last season? It has to be between Cooks, Colston, TEs Hill/Watson and the running game. The Defence doesn’t really look any better. Yes the Secondary is improved and looks okay, but the big problems are on the LB position. There are simply not enough quality LB for a good 3-4 defence.
Winti in friendlies has been playing some good football getting some big wins in the Cup. He could be a dark horse in what appears to be an open division.
Buncey - Carolina Panthers
Buncey takes over the Panthers with Cam Newton - you know what that means the coaches in the NFC South will be doing? - Making sure he can't roll out to the right! If there is one person you don't want to have with a mobile QB it is Buncey as he will make you rage!
The Panthers are the first team in the NFC South, who were able to repeat their Division title. And with this team in this division they might even be the first one to make it 3 in a row. If Coach Buncey can fix their O-line or use Cams legs enough this passing game there is a lot of potential for this team to go all the way. 3 big targets in WR Benjamin, WR/TE Funchesse and TE Greg Olsen are going to cause defences into fits. However their O-line and running game could definitely use an upgrade.
On the defensive side of the ball their front 7 is stacked. DT Star Lotuleile DT Keewan Short and MLB Luke Kuechely and OLB Thomas Davis are only the one that came to my mind instantly, also 1st Round Pick Shaq Thompson should help this front seven even more. However it wouldn't be the Panthers if there wasn't any concerns at the DB position. Charles Tillman is 34 and frankly is no longer the number 1 corner you wish to have in a 4 year franchise. Norman on the other side of the field is an okay corner but with his 27 there is not that much room to improve left. Another ageing player plays on Strong Saftey with Roman Harper. The one positive thing in this secondary is probably FS Tre Boston who showed promise at the end of last season.
All in all, lets get ready to start up a sack watch this season as everyone in the league looks to destory Cam Newton!
Winti's Final Word
The NFC South looks like it could very well be one of the most competitive divisions. Everyone has an opportunity to beat the other and there doesn't appear to be one standout from the pack. However one would guess that BTG has a mark on his back, as being that one player in the division you have to beat he'll be hoping his Madden 15 form doesn't follow him into 16. Buncey & Stuey will both be competitive, I feel both Cam Newton and Mike Evans are going to send everyone into those moments of pure RAGE! As for I, I think there is going to be a lot of rebuilding needed particularly with the defence, if I can get BTG raging on the headset I will feel as if I've achieved my mission!
Good luck to all in the NFC South, Its going to be a good one!
Now lets all SACK NEWTON!
