Throughout the 4 seasons of the Xpress the AFC North produced a Superbowl winner, an INT throwing machine, a new Xpress force and Moneybags!
Baltimore Ravens - Perrin
In my initial article on this division I had Perrin pegged to be the man to beat in this division and he sure as hell didn't disappoint. As he would go on to win the division three times and would go on to win Superbowl VI to the continue the paddy dominance of the Xpress overcoming Sovoth's lions in a 27-21 win. During Perrins time he would be most remembered for one thing Arthur 'Freckin' Brown who was a pick machine roaming the field and continously making picks which caused much frustuartion to his opponents. Unfortunately Perrin won't be rejoining the Xpress in Madden 15 but should he rejoin I'm sure the whole league will be hoping he doesn't join their division.
Pittsburgh Steelers - PatsUK
PatsUK joined the Xpress as a relatively unknown but has made a name for himself and is sure to be a contender next season in Madden 15. I think its fair to say Pats didn't get off to the start that he would've expected from himself but he was able to overcome these issues and produced a fantastic season 3 where he was able to beat the defending champ Perrin on multiple occassions and was able to get the first week bye. Unfortunately PatsUK wasn't able to get much further than the divisional rounds mostly due to being surronded by too many Paddys with their four leaf clovers. But he would go on to win the coach of the year and established himself within the league. Speaking to Pats he has set the lofty goals of winning a Superbowl next season in Madden 15 and with Perrin his rival no longer around he knows his not going to get beat on unbelivably lucky plays. Solid contender to make an impression in Madden 15.
Cincinatti Bengals - ShatnersBassoon
Shatners was a seasoned member of the Xpress coming into the Madden 25 and had produced some good results coming into this installment. But I don't think anyone could have guessed what would happen when you teamed the Ginger Ninja with Shatners. INT Party in Cincy thats what happened as Shatners went on the break a record that had stood in the NFL for many years by throwing well over 50 INTs. Shatners would go down as being the exclamation point to all jokes about other individuals throwing INTs. But he would turn things around in later seasons and would produce some great results; there was notable improvement with Shatners during the 4 seasons where I think it is quite possible that given the right team he could cause issues next year and could look at least getting into the playoffs.
Cleveland Browns - Bengalstillidie
What can you say about the Browns? From the last few seasons I think all you can say they care about particulary Freeman is the Money! The old GM Kurt would make a big mistake with Freeman and fans would run the Irishman out of town eventually leaving the guy with prob the worst sort of gamertag to take over the Browns. One thing you can say during Bengals time in his reign is his made it work with Freeman for the most part whilst his first season in charge wasn't memorable his got them currently on a playoff run and they are looking quite good to potentially go a few steps further and could perhaps surprise a few people by getting to the big dance. I haven't heard much about his plans in terms of the future but should he start in a franchise from the start he could be one of the names to make a splash.
The next division sees us head South. This division was one of the more interesting divisions we had your typical powerhouse with Evo who finally proved he wasn't just a runner up anymore with a special Superbowl win. But we also had McManus who was one of the most improved coaches from Madden 13 - 25 and Rhino who kept on competing and would form a special rivalary with Mcmanus. There was also Bos who provided one of the more memorable moments of the Xpress although he still had no idea on how to defend.
Tenneessee Titans - Evo
Evo coming into the Xpress this season was always known as being that other Irishman or Ultras other Twin. He made the Superbowl in Season IV of the Xpress but lost to Ultra but this time in season V he got his revenge and finally overthrew Ultra and would go on to win the Superbowl against RamsDan in the Snow where nobody could get their passes going on target. But Evo was able to pull through with his trusty QB Jake Locker who would go on to pass the Titans into Superbowl VII but would get overthrown by Zoso. Evo would be well known for his passing game which would cause problems for almost everyone. I think its fair to say Evo would have to be one of those guys who we all expect to be at back to his best come Madden 15.
Indianapolis Colts - McManus
Mcmanus has turned quite a few heads this year with the improvements his made. I don't think anyone could have guessed this guy would be making the playoffs twice in four seasons considering the tough division he was in but he sure did. Not to mention he would go on to make a few good trades to improve in positions his acquistion of CJ2K proved to be a great choice and gave him an effective run game. I think one of the best performances I've seen from Mcmanus would come from his win he got against Evo during this year I don't think anyone would see such a result coming. Coming into next season should McManus continue with the Xpress on the Xbox 1 he could push quite a few people to their limits and certaintly win a few games and get himself into the mix espically if he improves the way he did this year.
Houston Texans - Red Rhino
Rhino was an interesting player this season he didn't seem to be able to get things going with the Texans but there were moments when things looked to click into place. I think Rhino needs to sort one thing out and hire an accountant to take care of his resignings cause its quite clear considering the money issues he had in season 2 where he offered some scrub a crazy amount of bonus money. I think people actually thought he helped out Kurt with his Freeman negotiations and me with my Solder fiasco. But aside from Rhinos resigning woes put together some good performances and would constantly push McManus to the brink the only thing hurting him would be throwing bad passes, however with one full season behind him I think there has been an improvement in his game and he could be another one of these guys on the edge of getting to the playoffs on the next edition if he continues to get better like he has on this version and learn how to manage the cap.
Jacksonville Jags - Bos
Bos is relatively new to the Xpress world having joined in the third season this year but boy did he make a splash. In one of the biggest performances in recent memory Bos was able to beat Ultra the 4 time Xpress champ in effectively Ultras last game. With such a name under his belt its no wonder why many expect Bos to continue some good form going forward. Unfortunately in order to do so Bos needs to learn how to defend and it was quite clear that he couldn't keep up with both sides of the ball which cost him in other games. But he is one of those players that could be very dangerous with a different team and would be a player I would watch out for but I think he would call his time at Jacksonville a reasonable success.
On to the AFC West which featured Cherries and his Broncos who were one of the AFC powerhouses and a kid with a router which made the division close. Also not to forget the late entry of the Swiss who helped defeat the biggest Ego in the Xpress in Season VIII.
Denver Broncos - Cherries
Cherries and his Broncos also known as that guy who has that crazy blitz with Von Miller who got through over 7 times in a game. Would pretty much dominate those in the AFC West effectively except for one guy (but we will get on that later) Cherries would make the playoffs on all occassions thanks to his effective pass attack who would carve teams up no matter who was at QB and his defence who would put constant pressure on the QB. But when it came to the big games against the big names mainly the Irish. Cherries would become a scared little boy and would throw picks all over the place in Season V it was getting picked by Mikey and Mayo and being scared of eating anything with Mayo on it for over a month. In Season VI & VII it was Arthur Brown and Evo causing the trouble. Cherries has been known in his time as the guy who is almost there, but not there yet. I expect Cherries to continue being a top player next year and is likely to make a Superbowl push but it just depends if he can overcome the hump and beat a paddy.
Kansas City Chiefs - Matt
Next we are onto the Chiefs led by Matt. Matt effectively kept the AFC West close by himself since he joined but I don't think he deserves all the credit. I think part of the credit should go down to that router who has disconnected at so many great opportunities including injuries to key players ie Charles, Bowe etc. But when there were no injuries Matt was able to grind out wins thanks to a successful run game with Charles running over everyone hell this guy didn't even need a pass game. I think his QB's only threw the ball 10 times all season. Nonetheless Matt established himself in the Xpress as one of those guys who is likely to make a tough time for everyone and can win against anyone. But I think he needs to step up his game next season and it is likely he will do so, but first he needs to sort out his Internet and stop copying people off twitter. Nonetheless I expect Matt is going to be back next season and is likely to make the playoffs and cause a few upsets, Superbowl may be out of his reach but in the Xpress you never know.
Oakland Raiders - Winti
Lastly we have the Swiss Cheese Winti whose defence had equally the same amount of holes in its secondary. But Winti took over a hard situation after DLA left the Raiders, Winti picked them up and struggled getting wins against the CPU and adjusting to the team that had been built. But he showed good moments and none moreso than when he beat Ramsburgers and broke his streak and in a thirlling match. He would often have close games and proved to be a tough opponent to many. With Winti getting his own team next season I think its clear that he could be looking to make a playoff dash next year look out for this guy to be the most improved next season in my books.
So what is there to say about this division. This division started off with 4 coaches who didn't finish the league Mikey, Ultra. Jabe & Makem. Not to mention this was predicted to be one of the cloest divisions in the league and also the death division. I didn't expect the later assumption to be so right. Nonetheless Rayski stepped into this division and was alone at the bitter end.
New England Patriots - Rayski
The last man standing was Rayski in the AFC East, whilst he was a 1 and done in the playoffs and in a division that was a ghost town make no mistake he is a very good player who has a lot of potential. It is going to be quite interesting to see what he could do with a team of his own he can shape and could be one of the dark horses next year. In his time in the Xpress which has been short he has performed really well with the Pats offence with Bradford and Gronk being regulars for player of the week honors but you have to feel his recent showing in the playoffs is not what he would have expected. But still he would be one of those guys I think would surprise a few people next season.
AFC East - The Other Guys
Can't really end the article there by talking about just one team so will look over the original guys just briefly.
Mikey and his Pats would adjust quite well in his first season and would push a few teams to the limits and get some big wins. His most notable being a win against Cherries in the playoffs but he couldn't continue his performance in the later rounds, he has since decided to put his name into the hat for the Xpress next season and is one of those guys I expect to cause a lot of damage.
Jabe and the Dolphins were highly rated coming into the season and played like a seasoned pro he would certainly be the X Factor in the division but was unable to overcome Ultra on the occasions he played him, unfortunately since his migration to the PS4 he has not announced his attentions.
- Makem and the Jets would form quite a good team actually it was prob one of the best teams at the conclusion of the Franchise with a solid defence all round, however Makem decided to take his ball and go home, will he come back I don't know but I think we can agree that he can build a team remarkably well.
- Ultra and the Bills, I honestly think Ultra was dissapointed with the way things went this version of the Xpress he was so close to the Superbowl but wouold fall short on multiple occassions and it would either be against his dastardly twin Evo or that other Paddy Perrin. I think we can all agree that when Ultra rejoins the Xpress next season he will be one of the favourites.
Hope you enjoyed the read guys turned out to be a preview mixed with a review which I hope you appreciated. The NFC section should be done within the next few days.
