Week 1 Recaps
Browns at Bengals 10 -13
The Dawgs were visiting the Bengals in Cincinnati this week and boy they surprised everyone in the crowd including their own hardcore fan base as well. JFF struggled mightily again, competing only 10 passes all game with 0 touchdowns and one interception. After the promising start for Johnny, he has been having a hard time leading the Browns to victories in the competitive AFC conference. The win is even more astonishing when you see Andy Dalton’s stats. 1td but 4 int’s surely should have let the Browns walk away with a win but Matt Flynn coming in from the bench, lead the offense to field goal range and won the game for the Bengals. Classic AFC North division low scoring affair with Paddy able to hold on to a win. Well done.
Panthers at Bears 20 -26
The wind is whispering about high expectations in the Windy City this season. One of the franchises that had their hands full with free agents this year, Buncey sure looks to make a splash. His first battle in Week 1 against cherries, who has been solid playoff contender coming out of the NFC South, couldn’t have been more challenging as the two teams needed overtime to decide who gets his first win of the season. It was personal for Buncey as cherries blow him out in a Week 17 game, ending his hopes for the playoffs. Newly signed Bears, C J Spiller and Vernon Davis had solid games with Davis recording a receiving TD and 135 yards but the game ball goes to LB Khairi Fortt who had 2 INts on the day, one of them in the 4th to give a chance to QB Dowling to win or tie the game. Panthers D held up, leading to a Bears FG and overtime.
Bears win the toss and on the first play, Spiller goes 69 yards to essentially seal the win for the Bears. Great win for Buncey but I kinda have the feeling these teams will meet again this season.
Giants at Redskins 17 – 14
For our last game we visit Washington DC to witness a sizzling NFC East defensive battle between two coaches who are hoping to make surprise the fellow coaches this season. Of course only if they got their QB’s in place. Mcmanus famously signed half of the QB’s coming out of the Manning Academy last year, plus Brees and Cutler, but this offseason he went after free agent Nick Foles to solidify the position, once and for all? While Perrin, one of the most polished players in the league, has been struggling with nearly everyone at the position rated 75 or below but Kirk Cousins is back and was hoping a good start for the season.
- Jake “The Snake” Taylor had an unreal efficiency, throwing for 254 yards and 3 td’s from only 11 passes. Is this the year when the Boys are finally rising to the top?
- The Vikings gotta be the first team to lose with a 280+ yards runner in the backfield. Great win for tottenhamdan and his Jaguars. 41-44
Osweiler looked like Peyton Manning in his first game of the season, rackingup 21/26 210yards and 2 tds but the Broncos just won their game at home against the Chargers, 17-20.
Who would have thought that Chandler Bowles will have a 100+ yards game against the CPU Chiefs? Anyone? Well, he did and the Saints won. Can Evo come back from a possible 0-4 and win the AFC West 3rd time in a row?
Ultra welcomed heli back to the xpress with a blowout win, 38-7 with Freeman running for 154 yards and a TD. This young RB is on the way for a HOF career if he keeps doing business as usual.
Fans are crying for rookie QB Garrett Holmes in Washington. Everybody wonders what Perrin could do with a solid starter at the position.
Sources close to the Saints coach are telling that B Cooks is on the block. Several teams got in contact with the organization but no finalized deal reached yet.
JFF still not injured FFS.
