Our first division this week is the AFC East. The East has been a division owned by the undefeated Patriots with the Dolphins playing a close second. The Dolphins finished the week knowing their destiny of having the final wildcard spot. However it will be the battle for 5th spot which will be interesting for the Fins as they meet the Redskins this week a win could secure the 5th spot for the Fins forcing a rematach of their week 16 game against the Browns in which they prevailed in. Surely a win this week for Ray is something he needs. Turning our attention to the Patriots they look destined to secure the no 1 seed, but with the Giants who sport one of the toughest defences in the league a loss could hurt Jimi and his 1-2 punch of Edwards, Lynch & Gronk. If this combo gets firing I think we could be looking at quite possibly one of the people who will be competing at the AFC Championship game. For Sparky and Winti is all about preparing for the 3rd season and I'm sure both will be looking to improve their defences to ensure they can hold back the aerial prowness of their rival Pats and Fins.
The AFC North has been a division that has largely underperformed this season. With Dede, JA15 and Paddy having poor seasons by their standards. All three will be looking to improve their defences as they look to contain the powerful force of Pacfish and his JFF led Browns who have gone on to claim their second North crown. However the road ahead for the Browns looks harsh it looks likely the Browns will finish with the no 4 seed and are likely to face the Raider or Fins both teams that are on a surge with a great talent pool. But lets take nothing away from this fella from Yorkshire who has shown some promise, pushing Evo all the way, beating RamsDan. Pacfish is my darkhorse in the AFC playoffs.
Evo has sown up his second AFC West title with another convincing season but the attention will draw to this week to see if he can get the bye. He will be hoping his twin Ultra can do the deed on the competition as the Falcons meet the Jags in a potential superbowl match. But with this said Evo’s season has been one of great promise. Whilst not as good as last he has come in and proved to the league he could be the first person since his evil twin Ultra to go back to back. Can it be done?
Well TJCullingham will hope not. Being the only person to knock off Evo this season and going to the wildcard round is a huge step for this xpress playoff first timer. TJ faces off against the Chargers this week and will be hoping to secure the no 5 seed to avoid having to match up against Evo or Dan. However TJ rise has led many to believe that possibly he has risen too soon. Many critics think TJ will be a first round exit with his team not ready, can TJ prove them wrong?
Broncos and Chargers owners Joe and Pats will be sitting on the sidelines watching this unfold and not caring because playoffs are for Mongs according to Joe. However both will be thinking where they can improve and how they can stop Charles next season.
Moving onto the AFC South and the unbelievable has happened, Gooner won’t be featuring in the playoffs. Leaving many to question if Gooner’s time has passed. On the other side; out of the ashes Dan has arisen as one of the toughest competitors in recent memory. He has been able to get past a lot of tough opponents. However his week 15 loss to potential playoff opponent Jimi must have Dan thinking about a new gameplan on to how to dethrone the Pats leader.
The others in the South will be thankful for the break its now the time for Kirchsoffs to massage Luck and make sure he can last a few season whilst Rourke will be wishing he made a trade to get RG3 as his QB situation hasn’t been the best since he departed the Skins.
Next we turn our attention to one of the closest playoff races in years. We have had to recruit our resident mathematician Buncey to calculate all the different permutations but his long locks got in the way of his month and we couldn’t understand what he was saying.
On one side we have Perrin who has finally found form knocking off the Boys and Giants in consecutive weeks. The only team standing in their way now our the Fins they are the only team in the East with their destiny in their hands. Perrin has been well known for his work with his Linebackers and look set for that continue, if Rayski can defeat the Irish sensation we could be looking at one complicated playoff picture.
The Boys have fallen on a bit of rough form from bad management of the team and also bad coaching. Not to mention one tough schedule which has featured at least 5 teams bound for the playoffs. The Boys though need luck and for this to happen they need both the Giants and Skins to lose this week to advance with both of those teams due to play the top players in the AFC East luck may be on Dallas side.
The Giants, have had a tough time in recent weeks against the division with the Boys and Skins getting huge wins but its being their play outside of the division which has been impressive. The defence has been a menace but this week the Pats will surely be too much for McManus? A win here for the Irish man with the beard would be enough to send the Giants to the playoffs.
What a week its been for Keanoo he has turned this around massively getting a big win this week and securing the North with a huge win. Now his attention will turn to the playoffs where he is likely to be a force getting some big wins during the season thanks to the whole team being carried by AP who just whipped each and every person and child in sight.
Buncey, has one simple task on how to make the playoffs. Beat Cherries simple right? Wrong, Cherries is one of the players who appears to be on a hot streak and has been in good form recently. This game will be regarded as only one thing “The Moan Bowl” the winner will surely be the one going to the playoffs and the loser will have moaned and listened to moaning enough for the whole league to hear for the entire season. Seriously I haven’t met or heard two people who could moan as much as these two. If we made it a triple threat with Goldenbeard now that would be interesting.
Shatners and Volki, will look into the offseason thinking about a what if, for Shatners this season held some good moment for him getting some big wins and signs of improvement. Whilst Volki seemed to think his team were playing in anything other than Green and Yellow with A-Rod throwing enough picks to make other coaches believe Shatners was controlling him.
The NFC West is another one of those tough divisions featuring MaddenPFL’s maid of honour RamsDan. Who appears to taken over Gooners mantle of never winning a bowl but featuring in plenty. This season though Dan has pulled out a lot of stops getting on the winning streaks. However his matchup this week is sure to be a mini playoff battle for former champ Zozo.
Zozo has undergone a transformation winning games going on streaks but it looks like it may be too late. A win here and a Sovoth lost to Keanoo could throw a real spanner into the works with 4 people on the same record. I would love to see Zoos get a win here though just to continue the epic rivalry these two have had over the past few seasons.
Sovoth, the man who likes Kaep one week hates him the next. His mood swings have been once every 4 weeks leading some to believe he may be on his period. But no the rage is strong in this one. He has been there before but never won the championship, With the 49ers he looks destined to give everyone a run for their money. But it all starts with his mini playoff game against Keanoo a win there and he could stamp his ticket into the playoffs. A loss on the other hand and it could be seeing Sovoth crawling and begging to the Maddengods come 11.50pm on Wednesday.
Rhino has come on in some good form this year, he got some big wins this year and has ran a lot of people close. I think with one more season we could be looking at someone who could win this division but at the moment I’m sure Rhino likes playing spoiler and he gets to finish the season on a high against Volki; how many picks will be thrown in this one?
Last we head over to the South labelled by some as the hardest division in the Xpress. Ultra has sown up the division in style on an 8 game winning streak. This weeks match against Dan will test Ultra and is the perfect warm up to the 4 time winner of the league. But its being a long time since this Irishmen last tasted success will this be the year of the dirty bird?
Cherries the moaner of the south. Looks set to book his place to the playoffs; but with a game with Buncey in front of him its going to be a tough one. Cherries hasn’t meet his high standards with his play and will be hoping to turn it around. But its going to take a big match out of Newton.
Trimmer and Riverman will be Boshing things up in the off season as they just don’t have to deal with the moaning (except Phil when he goes to bed with Dickie)
